Get it if you can!

Hi there friends and visitors! I just wanted to give you an update on how I'm doing. As you can see, I can be silly at times. I can't believe that foster Mom took this picture and is showing it to everyone. She says it is pretty cute (whatever that means?).

Anyway, here is the scoop...I went to the doggy doctor on Jan. 2nd and had some bloodwork done and to get my hips x-rayed. My bloodwork came back with some elevated levels. Also, the doctor said that I have hip dyspasia. Boy...2 strikes in 1 day. It didn't sound good, but thankfully the rescue is looking out for me and we are trying to find the best way to handle these problems. I will go back to the doggy doctor on Jan 31st for another bloodwork panel to see if I'm back to normal, or if I need more tests. I'm so lucky to have the good people that rescued me and others that have contributed to my care.

I continue to learn and have fun in my foster home. I am playing more with my foster brothers R & R. I really love to get pets and belly rubs. If you stop, I will nudge your hand with my nose. I know that's a bit bossy, but I just can't help myself. I have gained my weight back and my coat is starting to look gorgeous :) I'll let you know more when I get back from the doggy doctor...

Foster Findings...

Well...it has been 3 weeks since I've been in my foster home and everything is going great!

I am finally gaining some weight and my health is improving too. I do need some dental work done, but an angel named Lisa donated the funds needed to go to the doggy dentist. Thank you Lisa! Thanks, to all of the donors that have contributed to my continued care.

Foster Mom says that I am the most loving, sweetest, gentlest, kindest, calmest girl she has ever known. She seems to think that I may be a bit older than originally thought (6 - 8 years young). I seem to have some arthritis in the hind area, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying life. I love to go for car rides and short walks. Being with my people, on a nice fluffy dog bed is my favorite spot. I do not require much exercise, but would love to accompany you on any fun trips.

I know the following commands: sit, stay (short), look, and down. My foster family practices something called NILIF (Nothing In Life Is Free) and my foster brothers and I have to follow some commands before we get food, go out, go for a ride, etc. I am house trained and listen very well. I LOVE my food!

I'm looking for a forever home that will be able to provide me a nice comfortable place to spend my golden years. Foster Mom is looking for the perfect home for me and will keep me until she finds it.

If you are a good fit or have any questions regarding Emma, please email foster Mom at getdebby@gmail.com .

Emma is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, monthly flea & tick preventive medication and monthly heartworm preventive medication. Her adoption fee is $150.00.

Introducing

EMMA...I'm a mature, elegant Aussie mix girl. I got lucky, when I was rescued at a local kill shelter by Forgotten Friends - Mixed Breed Rescue. The rescue director took one look at me, and decided she just couldn't leave me in this cold, dark place. She knew that because I wasn't a cute, spry little puppy, that I didn't have much of a chance getting out of this place. Not only am I middle aged (6 - 8 years old), but I was in pretty bad shape too. I came in as a very skinny, hungry stray with an upper resportory infection, worms, very dry itchy skin, bad teeth and stiff hind legs (maybe arthritis). Thank goodnes she saw right through all of those issues and brought me home with her. She knew deep in her heart, how very special I really am. That was about a month ago that my new life began and I am finally healthy and gaining weight. I am in a foster home learning all kinds of new things with my foster brothers Ray & Rascal (we call them R & R for short). My foster family is helping me to gain weight and they have these really comfortable dog beds. I love sleeping on them. Well...that's how I got here. I'll keep you posted on my happenings. Ta-ta for now
